Who we are
We are deltaVision GmbH. We develop, produce, and qualify fluid control systems for aerospace and H2 mobility. In 2022, we founded the company to become a premium supplier of cryogenic- and high-pressure sub-systems. We disrupt the market with innovative products, cost-effectiveness, and lead time that no traditional player has ever seen. With our knowledge on fluid-control for space systems we are shaping the space economy towards refuellable and re-usable spacecraft.
Your mission
As part of our Systems Engineering Team in Munich, Germany, you will contribute to the development of internal competence on propellant and pressurant tanks development and manufacturing for upcoming In-Orbit Refueling infrastructure vehicles. This role provides an opportunity to develop systems thinking, along with experience on technology maturation and manufacturing techniques, while working closely with a multidisciplinary team. The position is planned for a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension and future employment. We offer this position as a Master’s thesis, with the exact topic tailored to the candidate’s interests and strengths, or as internship / Bachelor’s thesis / semester project.
Your role will include:
- Research state-of-the-art tank designs for orbital vehicles, including structural and thermal considerations.
- Evaluate state-of-the-art solutions against system requirements.
- Explore innovative materials, advanced manufacturing techniques, and design optimization strategies to support next-generation space systems.
- Compare and trade manufacturing methods (e.g., additive manufacturing, filament winding, polymer tanks manufacturing, bladders integration).
- Develop conceptual designs and perform preliminary structural/thermal analyses using industry-standard tools (CATIA, 3dx).
- Assess trade-offs between performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliability.
- Work on early TRL & MRL maturation and demonstrators.
- Document findings and propose recommendations for internal competence development.
- Contribute to setting up future TRL and MRL maturation plans.
- Support with relevant ad-hoc activities.
Your profile
- Enrolled in a Master’s or advanced Bachelor’s student in Aerospace, Mechanical, Systems engineering, or a related field
- Passion for creating a new spaceflight paradigm (space logistics and orbital refuelling)
- Basic Knowledge of fluidic systems and an interest in ALM, welding, and MAIT processes for metals and polymers.
- Familiarity with space systems engineering, structural and thermal considerations, and space materials is expected.
- Good to have knowledge of ECSS standards, CAD/PLM tools, propulsion fundamentals, NDT, and space qualification processes.
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Proactive, structured, and able to work independently and in a team
We Offer
- Immediate and flexible start
- up to 30 days of annual paid leave based on a 5-day workweek
- Potential for a Master’s project and/or full-time employment afterwards
- Empowerment and independence, with mentoring and access to industry experts for academic success.
